As we say goodbye to 2023 we all start to think about 2024, and what lays ahead.
Whatever you want to call it, we all want to set New Goals for a New Year, to make a New Start, a Resolution of what you want to do this coming year of 2024.
There is nothing wrong with doing this, it is great to have goals but let's make them realistic.
Well it all sounds great leading up to the New Year, especially on New Years Eve, what we want, lose weight, drop a dress size, get fitter, eat better, sort out those aches and pains but why do we have to set goals or resolutions that are extreme.
We think for some reason as it is a new start we can set unrealistic targets for ourselves. We still have the same 24 hours in a day that we had in 2023. If our life has not changed we will still have the same commitments that we had in 2023, the hours we work, maybe shift work, the family commitments, shopping, cleaning, cooking, children etc etc etc so if we have not made changes to these how are you going to hit these unrealistic new goals, that you couldn’t hit last year?
So before you start and fail within a week or 2 or by the end of January 2024 sit down and think it through and ask yourself some questions:
What do you want to achieve?
What time have you got?
How much can you fit in?
Who is going to support you?
What do you enjoy doing (if you don’t enjoy it you won’t do it)
What resources do you need?
When you get all this sorted and written down then make your plan.
A realistic plan that may take a few weeks, months or even the year of 2024.
Always build in a plan B so when you don’t succeed all the time you will have a fall back plan.
Write your goals, resolutions down as we know when it is written you will have a much greater chance of achieving it.
So what are mine for this year?
More Walking
Drop Body Fat
Increase Muscle mass
And a few more that I will let you in on during the next few months.
So remember you don’t have to be extreme be realistic
The Goal is yours OWN IT.
Happy New Year to you all and I hope it brings peace and happiness
